Each month the crafters at The Perfect Touch choose a special cause and donate 10% of all sales to that cause.  In addition, several crafters combine their resources to create a parasol representing that cause.  The full purchase price of the parasol is also donated to the cause of choice.  This parasol is dedicated to and a fundraiser for The March of Dimes which is a health charity whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality..  You can read more about The March of Dimes Foundation here:

 

 

The New Beginnings Parasol is the first of our new design of Victorian-inspired parasols created for current day use and practicality.  Like the Victorian parasols, ours is intented to keep away the damaging effects of the sun while still allowing us to enjoy a beautiful day outside.  But unlike Victorian parasols, ours is removable and reversible to allow the use of multiple covers and fabrics to match any outfit we like!

 

The parasol base is a personal size white nylon parasol with wooden handle.  Tie loops have been added to each rib tip.  The reversible cotton cover and grosgrain ribbons are coordinated in the purple and aqua colors of The March of Dimes Foundation.  An edging of delicate white cotton lace finishes the parasol cover edge.

 

Also included for this fundraiser is a Garanimals baby's toy with wings that light while it plays Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star when it's tummy is pressed.
